Why does OMNi-BiOTiC® ViTAL Butyrat 500 work?

OMNi-BiOTiC® ViTAL Butyrat 500 provides microencapsulated sodium butyrate. The protective coating preserves the butyrate as it passes through the digestive tract and allows it to be released only once it reaches the large intestine. This ensures that butyrate is delivered specifically to where it is naturally produced and performs its physiological function. At the same time, microencapsulation neutralises the intense smell and taste typically associated with butyric acid.

Butyrate helps the intestinal mucosa maintain its natural barrier function. In addition, butyrate naturally plays a role in communication between the gut and the brain – current research is focusing extensively on its importance in signalling between the gut and the nervous system. Its potential influence on mental wellbeing is also being investigated.

Use

How should OMNi-BiOTiC® ViTAL Butyrat 500 be taken?

Take 1 capsule once daily with a meal, swallowing it whole with sufficient liquid. The daily intake can, of course, be gradually increased to 1 capsule 3 times daily. Our tip: For better tolerance, we recommend gradually increasing the dose by 1 capsule every 7 days up to the maximum recommended intake of 1 capsule 3 times daily.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

No animal protein, gluten, yeast or lactose has been added to the product, and it is suitable for people with a milk allergy. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet. Maintain a healthy lifestyle. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Keep out of reach of young children. Butyrate naturally has a characteristic odour.

OMNi-BiOTiC® ViTAL Butyrat 500 was developed for people who want to specifically supplement their butyrate intake.

Butyrate – the salt of butyric acid – is an essential short-chain fatty acid and one of the most important metabolic products of the gut microbiota. Essential gut bacteria produce butyrate in the large intestine when breaking down dietary fibre. Butyrate has been the focus of research for many years, particularly due to its importance for the intestinal barrier, the immune system and the gut-brain axis.

Butyrate supports the important connections between intestinal cells – the so-called tight junctions. If the barrier becomes permeable, harmful substances from food – such as colourings, preservatives, etc. – can pass from the gut into the bloodstream and reach the brain. Research also suggests that butyrate is involved in mechanisms that regulate inflammatory processes and may positively influence cognitive functions such as concentration and memory, as well as emotional wellbeing.
