Why does OMNi-BiOTiC® ViTAL Electrolyte Complex work?

Ideal for balancing fluid and electrolyte levels, particularly in cases of frequent loose stools, as these are associated with a significant loss of water and electrolytes.

Essential electrolytes – for important bodily functions
Electrolytes are electrically charged minerals dissolved in all our bodily fluids – including blood, sweat and urine. Due to their electrical charge, they have the ability, among other things, to bind water and transmit signals within the nervous system. Electrolytes are therefore involved in numerous vital functions in the body: they regulate fluid balance and blood pressure, control muscle and nerve function, and are essential for metabolism and acid-base balance. Increased amounts of electrolytes are lost particularly through watery bowel movements or heavy sweating. OMNi-BiOTiC® ViTAL Electrolyte Complex, a refreshing apple-flavoured drink, provides a targeted supply of the essential electrolytes potassium, chloride, calcium, magnesium and sodium.

Sodium and glucose – a ‘turbo boost’ for water absorption
With loose stools, the body loses not only electrolytes but also large amounts of water – making adequate fluid intake all the more important. The sodium and glucose contained in OMNi-BiOTiC® ViTAL Electrolyte Complex promote the absorption of water from the gut through a sophisticated mechanism. Together, they are actively transported from inside the gut into the cells of the intestinal wall by means of a special protein (sodium-glucose cotransporter) and from there into the bloodstream. This increases the concentration of dissolved substances in the blood. Following the principle of osmosis, which works to equalise differences in concentration, a pull is created that causes water to flow from inside the gut through the intestinal wall towards the higher concentration – into the tissues and bloodstream. In this way, sodium and glucose support the rapid and efficient supply of water to the body (rehydration) and help to thicken the intestinal contents and therefore the stool.

Lactobacillus gasseri CP2305 – postbiotic component
When digestion is accelerated, our stools have a high water content because the intestinal contents pass through the body more quickly than usual. This not only leaves too little time for sufficient nutrients to be absorbed from the food as it passes through the gut, but also prevents the stool from becoming firmer. The heat-inactivated bacterial strain Lactobacillus gasseri CP2305 has the ability to positively influence stool quality and therefore ideally complements the formulation as a postbiotic component.

Use

How should OMNi-BiOTiC® ViTAL Electrolyte Complex be taken?

Dissolve 1 sachet of OMNi-BiOTiC® ViTAL Electrolyte Complex (= 40 g powder) in exactly 500 ml of water and stir well. The recommended daily intake depends on body weight (guideline: approx. 40 ml per kg of body weight within 24 hours); individual requirements may vary.

Potassium and chloride contribute to the regulation of fluid and acid-base balance, while Lactobacillus gasseri CP2305 supports a stable microbiome, which forms the basis of balanced digestion.
