Our liver is a very large, vital organ and is responsible for a multitude of different processes in our body: Every day 2,000 litres of blood are filtered in our liver and are so liberated of noxious substances (like alcohol, medicines or other toxic substances), so that these can never do harm to our organism. At the same time the liver metabolises food components such as carbohydrates, fats and proteins so that they can be used by our bodies.

Our detoxification centre is able to withstand a lot more than all the other organs of our body: Within only a few weeks the liver is able to regenerate itself.
